Following the renovation of the village war memorial, we would like to invite you to its rededication. We will meet at the village hall at 3pm for a service at the memorial at 3.20pm. This will be followed by free tea and cake at the scout hut where displays from the school, and research on those who died in the First World War, will be displayed.
Everyone is welcome. Cakes for donation are encouraged and may be dropped off from 1pm at the scout hut or earlier at Gifford Hall.

We have had the cemetery path resurfaced and replaced the kerbing outside it. We’re pleased with the work the contractors have done. The cemetery is much tidier and safer as a result.
We have a vacancy for a parish councillor. It’s a great opportunity to serve your community. If you would like apply to be co-opted, please write to or email the parish clerk, with details about yourself, your skills and why you would like to serve as a councillor. Please contact any councillor if you would like to know more about what it’s like to be on the parish council. You can read our co-option policy here.
We’re pleased to launch our new website. We want to make sure that we let you know what is going on and make it easy for you to share your views. We’ll put announcements and news here, list recent planning applications and post our minutes and other documents. We’ll evolve the site over time, so please let us know if there’s anything else you’d like to see here.
We believe that we need to remove the London Plane Tree that is opposite the Bell. It is a beautiful tree and we don’t want to lose it, but it is damaging the houses near it. So we don’t think we have a choice. We will plant some new trees to replace it, in more appropriate places.
There is a preservation order that currently protects the tree and we will apply to Wiltshire Council to remove it. If you would like to comment on this, then please contact us.
