Proposed road works programmed at B3107 Challeymead at the Melksham Lane Junction.
These works involve will carriageway recycling, surfacing, ironwork adjustment and replacement of road markings. The site extents can be viewed on the attached plans.
The works will commence on Friday 1st November 2019 and will be completed on Saturday 9th November between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00. There will no working on Saturday 2nd nor Sunday 3rd November. The final asphalt courses will be laid on Saturday 9th November.
In the period Monday 4th November to Friday 8th November the road will be closed to through traffic outside of these working hours (overnight) to allow the new material to cure.
On occasions, the works may overrun due to uncontrollable circumstances such as plant breakdowns, if weather conditions are unfavorable, or occasionally we discover the need for additional repairs once the work has started. Advance information signs will be erected at either end of the site confirming the scheme start dates. Road markings and ironwork adjustments may need to be completed at a later date.
Due to the nature of the works and the local environment, the works will be carried out within a temporary road closure, to ensure that adequate health & safety is maintained for the contractor & local residents.
The main diversion route for all ‘through’ traffic whilst works are being undertaken within the road closure will be via A350 Farmers Roundabout to A361 Littleton Roundabout, A361 Trowbridge Road to Paxcroft, Elisabeth Way to B3106 Staverton, B3105 Staverton, B3107 Bradford Road to Holt and vice versa.
Access will be maintained for local traffic to Broughton Gifford. Details of the site extents and diversion route can be found on the attached plans.
