Angus Macpherson, Wiltshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner, has launched a consultation on the cost of policing for 2016/17.
He proposes adding £3.12 a year for a band D property onto the council tax, which would raise an additional £769,000. He says that he needs to make savings of £2.7m to £3.5m.
You can see his proposals and respond to his consultation at http://www.wiltshire-pcc.gov.uk/Transparency/Policeandcrimeelementofcounciltax2016-17.aspx. The consultation ends at 10am on 2 February.
